Brotherly Love

Hello Everyone, Hello Vaughn!

I've been meaning to blog since Sunday but I had to borrow Poppa's memory stick because he had some precious pictures on it. First off, let me tell you that I have been miserable!!!! There has been a contractor at the condo for almost two weeks now! It is dusty, dirty, and soooo freaking loud! Needless to say, I've been confined to this stinkin' solarium most of the time. I hate it and it is sooo frustrating! Although the contractor is only here from 9 to 5 and Monday to Friday, I'm not really allowed out of the solarium because Mommy doesn't want me eating anything bad. Ya know, sometimes a guy needs to sample things. One night when I was allowed out in the dining room to play, Mommy was in the shower and Auntie wasn't paying attention so I decided to taste some plumber's putty. It seemed so dericious at the time. Mommy came out and found the tub of it in my mouth with the contents almost fully consumed. She was so upset and worried but then her and Auntie decided it was okay because the ingredients were natural and it was labelled "NON-TOXIC." Seriously, I know what I'm doing! Take a chill pill! Anyway, I've been misbehaving (according to Mommy) but I don't know how else to show my displeasure. Anyway, this past weekend we stayed at Poppa's again. Man, the freedom!!! How sweet it was. They even took me to the park at Yonge and Eglinton to socialize and play chuck it frisbee. I love that game! It's my favorite! On Sunday however, they decided to surprise me! I was pretty tired upon returning home from Poppa's, but they still took me out. We were hanging on the corner of Bay and our street when all of a sudden I thought I saw myself!!!! I had to do a double take! All of a sudden the crazy Mommy started saying "look Hubie! It's your brother! it's your brother!" Then I thought, OHHHHH MY GOOOODDDDNNEESSSSS!!!! IT'S MY BROTHER!!!! IT'S VAUGHN!!!Mommy was afraid we wouldn't remember each other but we started to play instantly! We didn't even need to sniff each other's bums!!! We know each other!!!! The parents then took us to the park where we played and played for sooo long! It even started to rain so we got super dirty and were threatened with a bath. We didn't care though because we had to catch up on old times. We wondered about our other brothers and if they were okay. Evil breeder didn't exactly provide us with their parents' contact info. What a shame! My parents and Vaughn's parents would've loved it. If you're reading this, please contact me! Anyway, when we got home, Mommy followed through on her threat and put me in the shower right away. She said I cried like a little girl, it's sooo embarassing! However, you would cry to if someone made you bathe under a big scary waterfall! After that Mommy hoped that I would crash and sleep for ten hours but I missed Vaughn so very much that I sat there looking out the window for a while and I'll admit, I cried a bit. It was a very bittersweet day for me. Hopefully I will get to see him again soon. On another note, Mommy is cheerfully telling me that we are enrolled in a doggie obedience class....I'll show her..... Our classes start on November 12. I was excited at first but then I found out that it isn't treat based!!!! Snore! Praises won't fill me up! Apparently her co-worker Pips is taking her doggie named Buster as well. I will have to email Buster so that we can conspire against them. Hehehehehehe........ By the way, I've added some pics from my Blessing!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving Day everybody! I hope you've all had a wonderful weekend with your family and friends. I have had a busy and stressful week. On Wednesday Auntie took me to see Dr. Judy because I have an ear infection. She gave me drops and everyday twice a day Mommy and Auntie have to fight with me before they can administer those damn sticky stinky drops. I really hate them and get so angry at Mommy that I sleep on the floor at night and when she puts me on the bed I jump off immediately. Then, on Friday early in the morning Mommy dropped me off at Dr. Judy's again and had me neutered! The ultimate betrayal!! That's okay because when Mommy picked me up she had bought me a reversible blue and green parka and two new nylabones! My favorite! Cousin Rufus was in the car waiting for me. I was still pretty groggy so I couldn't really play with him. Mommy makes me wear the cone sometimes and I'm only allowed to go out to pee pee and poopie and then come back in. The first night I had some soupy poopy from the anaesthesia but I'm all better now. Mommy also bought a new toy for Rufus because he is always trying to steal mine. His is a big flat squirrel almost like Moo-Cow except it has twelve squeakers in its back. Pretty cool if you ask me. I was jealous but then Rufus very graciously allowed me to play with it. On Saturday Mommy had a friend over who used to be afraid of me because she is a cat person and I liked to snip at her feet. She won me over by feeding me my dinner last night. I really like her but sometimes I forget to remain calm when I see her. Yesterday we had our Thanksgiving dinner. Grandma and Grandpa and Cousin Rufus came to pick me and Mommy up early in the morning and we did some grocery shopping (they also bought me a muzzle to make the ear drop thing easier....it did not work) then we went to the grand'rents home. Mommy made a turkey stuffing. Then in the evening we picked up Auntie and her friend F2P2 (who is my girlfriend Chloe's pet) and we all went Mommy's Grand'rents' home. Mommy's aunts, uncles, and cousins were also there. They feasted on the turkey and I had some. Mommy said no feeding the Hubert but when Grandma tried to feed Rufus, I jumped up and stole it! I'm so fricking stealth it's unbelievable! All day Mommy made me wear the cone because she didn't want me to damage the incision line. Today we are relaxing at home with Auntie and waiting for Poppa to return from Kingston so I don't have to wear the cone. I'm so sleepy I haven't even licked it yet!

So, here are a few things I'm thankful for this Thanksgiving:

1. Mommy

2. Poppa

3. Auntie

4. Grandma and Grandpa Nguyen - Le

5. Grandma and Grandpa Gibbons

6. Nylabone (the company for making my nylabones)

7. Moo-Cow

8. Dr. Judy for caring for me

9. VEC - nuff said

10. Vaughn and his Daddy for contacting us

11. My loyal readers

12. Food

13. Cousin Rufus

14. Hip Hop and Chicken Wings, without these two things, Mommy and Poppa would not be together

15. Hubie Brown....without him I wouldn't have a name, at least a proper one, I'd probably be Cotton Ball or Fluffy or something.

...................not in any particular order

What are you thankful for?

Bless Me Father, For I Am Cute

My goodness how a month flies by! I must be getting older. It's also getting cold out there, luckily my fur is growing like weeds! Well, it can't grow fast enough! My fur is still short on my IV leg and my beard from the biopsy. A couple of weeks ago, Mommy was walking me after work when I suddenly yelped and fell down licking my right back paw. I tried to get up and walk but it was sooo painful that all I could do was Puppy Ball, lick, and whimper loud enough so Mommy would know it was so ouchie. She had thought that maybe I stepped on it awkwardly because she couldn't find anything that might've gotten stuck to my foot. She carried me home and I was so embarassed that I kept my ears back and down as low as I could. People still pointed and laughed at me. I vowed to pee on their legs when I got better but I never did see them again. Such a shame. Anyway, when we got back Mommy fed me some dinner and then took me outside where she flagged a cab to take me to the Veterinary Emergency Clinic. When we were there the doctor took xrays but found nothing so they shaved me foot!!!!!! It was very puffy and red so they concluded that it was an insect. They gave me a shot of Benedryl in my bum to make me feel better. While we sat in the waiting area for my invoice, I was still in a lot of pain so I was still shivering and whimpering, but miraculously, when it was time to leave and we were at the clinic exit, I somehow got better and was able to run on all four legs home! Mommy was suspicious that I was faking it.......but I can't believe they shaved my leg! Auntie says that I am the patchiest dog ever. Mommy says I have a gerbil foot, Poppa says Dark Crystal or Chicken leg. They're all so evil. So, we've been going to the VEC for regular check ups on my Craniomandibular Osteopathy, (thanks a lot evil breeder), and each time I get very upset so Mommy takes me to a pet boutique in Yorkville where they put all the toys in bins on ground and I am allowed to pick something out. Last time I got to pick two out! I got a small squeaky duck named Duck Lou, and a cow named Moo-Cow. Moo-Cow is my favorite friend. He is like a blanket but with a big squishy head that moos and squeaky hoofs. I like to sleep with and on him. Mommy put him in the wash the other day with one of my red blankets and now Moo-Cow is pinkish and black instead of black and white. That's okay, I don't discriminate on prohibited grounds such as race or colour. It's what's inside that counts, and I love the squeakers inside of Moo-Cow. Mommy has to go to class on Tuesday nights now so Poppa comes to walk me after work. I love Poppa soooo much, he's my favorite! Mommy and I have been staying at his place lately because I am bigger and hold my peepee for longer. I love it there because after breakfast they take me to the park at Yonge and Eglinton where I get to mingle and play cops and robbers with other dogs and then we move to a more secluded area for drinks and chuck-it frisbee. It's my favorite game. Especially when they throw the frisbee and then they fetch it! Oh! Exciting times! Yesterday, I went to Church! Yes I did! I am Catholic after all. Mommy, Poppa, and his friend Ivan (who filmed this momentous occasion) took me to St.James Cathedral yesterday for an animal blessing. There were a bunch of dogs and cats, but some people also brought birds, a rabbit, and the Toronto Zoo brought a Camel! Service was held outside, and my favorite part was when the choir sang. It was so soothing. After that, the priest blessed the camel before the rest of us were called to approach him. I think I was blessed twice, first by a younger priest who made the cross at me and I did not know what she was doing, so I gave her a high five....I thought that was what she was doing! Poppa and Ivan laughed at me. Then I got to walk up to the Reverand George Elliot, I very much liked his outfit but his hat scared me because it looked like my Elizabethan collar cone thing. He was a very nice man and gave me a nice blessing, "I bless you Hubie and all who love you and take care of you" something like that. After Church they took me around Front street to shoot some footage for my short film called "Hubie Goes to Church" and although it will be a while before production wraps up, I will be sure to keep you posted on it. They also took me to Jason George, a pub on Front street, it was my first time on a patio and Mommy was very pleased at how well behaved I was. After that I went home and napped and after Mommy and Poppa went to Nuit Blanche we all went back to Poppa's together. Over there I have to sleep in my crate and not on the bed with them but I don't mind. I like to play on the balcony there too because I have a tent out there where I can play with my toys. Anyway, we got home early this evening and I was pooped but Cousin Rufus (who is living with grandma and grandpa for now) came to visit. I love to play with him but he gets too close to Moo-Cow. Now I am so exhausted I can barely keep my eyes open. I am posting some Church photos but there will be more next time because they are on Poppa's camera. Well, thanks for reading, I will pray for you, Amen.
