Bless Me Father, For I Am Cute

My goodness how a month flies by! I must be getting older. It's also getting cold out there, luckily my fur is growing like weeds! Well, it can't grow fast enough! My fur is still short on my IV leg and my beard from the biopsy. A couple of weeks ago, Mommy was walking me after work when I suddenly yelped and fell down licking my right back paw. I tried to get up and walk but it was sooo painful that all I could do was Puppy Ball, lick, and whimper loud enough so Mommy would know it was so ouchie. She had thought that maybe I stepped on it awkwardly because she couldn't find anything that might've gotten stuck to my foot. She carried me home and I was so embarassed that I kept my ears back and down as low as I could. People still pointed and laughed at me. I vowed to pee on their legs when I got better but I never did see them again. Such a shame. Anyway, when we got back Mommy fed me some dinner and then took me outside where she flagged a cab to take me to the Veterinary Emergency Clinic. When we were there the doctor took xrays but found nothing so they shaved me foot!!!!!! It was very puffy and red so they concluded that it was an insect. They gave me a shot of Benedryl in my bum to make me feel better. While we sat in the waiting area for my invoice, I was still in a lot of pain so I was still shivering and whimpering, but miraculously, when it was time to leave and we were at the clinic exit, I somehow got better and was able to run on all four legs home! Mommy was suspicious that I was faking it.......but I can't believe they shaved my leg! Auntie says that I am the patchiest dog ever. Mommy says I have a gerbil foot, Poppa says Dark Crystal or Chicken leg. They're all so evil. So, we've been going to the VEC for regular check ups on my Craniomandibular Osteopathy, (thanks a lot evil breeder), and each time I get very upset so Mommy takes me to a pet boutique in Yorkville where they put all the toys in bins on ground and I am allowed to pick something out. Last time I got to pick two out! I got a small squeaky duck named Duck Lou, and a cow named Moo-Cow. Moo-Cow is my favorite friend. He is like a blanket but with a big squishy head that moos and squeaky hoofs. I like to sleep with and on him. Mommy put him in the wash the other day with one of my red blankets and now Moo-Cow is pinkish and black instead of black and white. That's okay, I don't discriminate on prohibited grounds such as race or colour. It's what's inside that counts, and I love the squeakers inside of Moo-Cow. Mommy has to go to class on Tuesday nights now so Poppa comes to walk me after work. I love Poppa soooo much, he's my favorite! Mommy and I have been staying at his place lately because I am bigger and hold my peepee for longer. I love it there because after breakfast they take me to the park at Yonge and Eglinton where I get to mingle and play cops and robbers with other dogs and then we move to a more secluded area for drinks and chuck-it frisbee. It's my favorite game. Especially when they throw the frisbee and then they fetch it! Oh! Exciting times! Yesterday, I went to Church! Yes I did! I am Catholic after all. Mommy, Poppa, and his friend Ivan (who filmed this momentous occasion) took me to St.James Cathedral yesterday for an animal blessing. There were a bunch of dogs and cats, but some people also brought birds, a rabbit, and the Toronto Zoo brought a Camel! Service was held outside, and my favorite part was when the choir sang. It was so soothing. After that, the priest blessed the camel before the rest of us were called to approach him. I think I was blessed twice, first by a younger priest who made the cross at me and I did not know what she was doing, so I gave her a high five....I thought that was what she was doing! Poppa and Ivan laughed at me. Then I got to walk up to the Reverand George Elliot, I very much liked his outfit but his hat scared me because it looked like my Elizabethan collar cone thing. He was a very nice man and gave me a nice blessing, "I bless you Hubie and all who love you and take care of you" something like that. After Church they took me around Front street to shoot some footage for my short film called "Hubie Goes to Church" and although it will be a while before production wraps up, I will be sure to keep you posted on it. They also took me to Jason George, a pub on Front street, it was my first time on a patio and Mommy was very pleased at how well behaved I was. After that I went home and napped and after Mommy and Poppa went to Nuit Blanche we all went back to Poppa's together. Over there I have to sleep in my crate and not on the bed with them but I don't mind. I like to play on the balcony there too because I have a tent out there where I can play with my toys. Anyway, we got home early this evening and I was pooped but Cousin Rufus (who is living with grandma and grandpa for now) came to visit. I love to play with him but he gets too close to Moo-Cow. Now I am so exhausted I can barely keep my eyes open. I am posting some Church photos but there will be more next time because they are on Poppa's camera. Well, thanks for reading, I will pray for you, Amen.
